DRAWING, PAINTING & SCULPTURE CLASS DESCRIPTIONS AND SCHEDULE
A variety of media will be used in classes that include, but is not limited to: oil and chalk pastel, charcoal, watercolor, design marker, graphite, colored pencil and collage. All supplies and materials included in tuition.
FIRST STEPS (Ages: 2 ½ - 4) Our youngest artists have fun experimenting with different media while improving hand-eye coordination, problem solving and sequencing. First Steps was developed by former WCS pre-school teacher Kate Pepper.
Thurs. 10-11:30 or Thurs. 12:30-1:30
GETTING READY (Ages: 4 ½ - 7) This class introduces representational drawing geared to the attention span and motor coordination of the beginner artist. Children master the ability to recognize the elements of shape and combine them in drawing animals, characters and still-life.
Mon. 3:30-4:30; Tues. 4:30-5:30; Wed. 4:30-5:30; Thurs. 4:30-5:30; Sat. 10:00-11:00
BASIC DRAWING (Ages: 7-12) A relaxed, comfortable atmosphere challenges students to learn the basics and progress to intermediate projects. Students will draw from still life and 3-dimensional objects, photos, illustrations and their imaginations. Beginner adults welcome too! This is a perfect class to take with your child or grandchild!

MONART FOR HOMESCHOOLERS (Ages: 4 ½ - teen) Call about our special homeschool rates! (Applicable at The Art Park only) Homeschooled students are welcome to come to any class. If you would prefer a daytime class time please call the studio for options.
INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED DRAWING (Ages 12 – Adult) In this advanced class, students will create mixed media projects while focusing on techniques to further their skills. Lessons will involve drawing from still-life, learning about perspective, proportion and proper media usage. This class is geared towards students that have a basic knowledge of drawing. These classes are taught and developed by former Friends University instructor Charles Baughman.

SCULPTURE/CLAY CLASS (Ages 10-teen) Students will create a variety of projects including “junk art” sculpture, representational and abstract sculptural pieces, paper mache, clay projects, jewelry making, glass fusion and much more! Finished pieces will be decorative and some functional. This class can get messy so dress appropriately!

There are two payment/attendance options for classes at The Art Park – monthly or semester. New/returning students will need to pay the once yearly $15.00 per person registration fee. Please add the $15.00 per person registration fee to the first month’s tuition total.
Monthly classes can be started or stopped at any time and tuition is paid monthly by automatically billing a credit or debit card. If there are five class periods in the month, you will be billed accordingly. Monthly tuition is as follows for four class periods:
1 hour class (First Steps or Monart drawing): $68.50
1 ½ hour class (First Steps or drawing classes): $78.60
2 hour class: $95.00
Semester enrollment is a flexible attendance plan. The school year is divided into three semesters and you pre-pay for part of the current semester. Decide which day/time you can consistently come to and then attend as many class periods as you can, we will keep track of attendance. If all classes are attended the extra tuition is due at the end of the semester. Missed classes do not need to be “made-up,” as this is a flexible attendance plan. Unused tuition/classes cannot be carried over to a new semester. Enrollment mid-semester is acceptable upon availability. Semester dates are as follows:
Sept. 5th– Nov. 30th: We are holding class for 12 weeks. Pre-pay for 11 & choose which dates you can attend. No class: Oct. 31; Nov. 22, 23, 24.

1 ½ hour (1st Steps or Advanced Drawing): $211.75
2 hour: $255.75
Dec. 1st – Feb. 28th: We are holding class for 11 weeks. Pre-pay for 10 & choose which dates you can attend. No class Dec. 24-Jan.5th, classes resume Jan. 7.
1 hour (1st Steps or Monart Drawing): $167.50
1 ½ hour (1st Steps or Advanced Drawing): $192.50
2 hour: $232.50
Mar. 1st – May 30th: We are holding class for 12 weeks, pre-pay for 11 & choose which dates you can attend. No class Mar. 18-23; May 31.

WINTER EXPLORATIONS (Ages: 4 ½ - 7/ 8-14) Join us for fun camps during winter break! New lessons each day using different media. Along with the drawing students will create a craft or collage project. Come to all four or attend which days work for you. Tuition is $30 per person/per day and includes all materials. Classes meet 10:00-noon, Jan. 2, 3, 4, 5. Themes to be announced on-line.
